Our Facilities

Located on a beautiful 1450-acre property in North Canterbury, New Zealand, Rodin Cars features a state-of-the-art factory and test facility like no other.

Complete with 6km’s of test tracks, large workshops brimming with cutting edge machinery, a pit garage with hospitality and training centre, a range of driver training track cars, we have everything on-site required to ensure 100% self-sufficiency.

Design, Engineering and Manufacturing

Our workshops and design studio feature an impressive line-up of highly advanced equipment and technology, including industry leading CAD modelling hardware and software, SLA printers, large titanium printers, CNC machinery, automated robots, industrial autoclaves, PVD Ion plating systems, a full electrical department, a large assembly shop, plus everything else needed to build our bespoke cars in-house.

Test Tracks

The three Rodin Test Tracks are located directly on the property. Each car can be run entirely on our own schedule with no need to travel to commercial tracks. This massively improves vehicle development both in quality and time.

 STAGE 1

Stage 1 consists of a 100m radius circle, where fine tuning can be done on the steady state handling characteristics of the car.  This is the base of all track development work.

STAGE 2

Stage 2 consists of a 2350m track with 12 turns, topped by 53m of elevation change. Stage 2 really challenges the handling capabilities of the car. Here, constant radius turns of 100m, 80m, 60m and 50m facilitate the development of high-speed cornering characteristics.

STAGE 3

Stage 3 is a more open 2,438m track with just 7 turns and a 900m straight. Here, constant radius turns of 100m, 80m, 60m and 50m facilitate the development of high-speed cornering characteristics.

Pit Garage & Driver Training Facility

Right alongside our stage 3 track is a large Pit Garage complex, complete with in-ground lifts, a driver hospitality lounge, showers, toilets and gear room.

The Pit Garage facility is also used as a base to conduct our customer coaching and driver training.

Also housed in our Pit Garage complex is a varied selection of specialist track cars that we use for driver training purposes. Depending on the driver’s level of experience, we can start with a Renault Clio Cup Race Car and work our way through a wide range of cars (including Formula Ford, F3, Ferrari 458 Challenge, GP2) all the way up to the mighty Rodin FZed.
